Eat Real Things
I have had this on my mind for a while now but it keeps coming back up for some reason. As any of you out there can attest to, the minute you lose enough weight for people to notice one of the very first questions asked is “How did you lose the weight?” At first I was always really excited to answer that question but as time goes on it gets a little frustrating. The answer is a lifestyle change through a change of how I eat coupled with exercise as well as more active life in general.
But nobody wants to hear that.
Atkins says…
Atkins says, “My diet will correct most of the risk factors for heart disease.” But a study published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association found quite the opposite. People who followed the Atkins diet for 12 weeks showed significant increases in LDL (“bad” cholesterol), and substantial reductions in HDL (“good” cholesterol), indicating markedly increased risk for heart attacks.
For 30 years, Atkins has been claiming his diet reverses heart disease. During that entire time, not a single study has been published that substantiates his claim.
