“Respect the training. Honor the commitment. Cherish the results.”

This week wraps up peek week for me and I am thankful to say that it is over.  I periodically look back over my training schedule and journal and honestly cannot believe that I have been able to maintain it.
I have seen quite a few people here in my area sign up for the same half/full that I will be doing and many won’t make it.  Some have dropped out due to injury and others have never honored their commitment to train and finish. While the injury issues I can understand, signing up and then just never doing it leaves me scratching my head.
For those of you who have gone before me, I salute you.  I salute your determination and commitment to not only put yourself out there and do something like run your first half, full, or Iron Man.  This really hit home with me this week as I looked at my schedule and thought about all of those who have done something similar.  Despite it being hard at times to figure out how to get the training in, I am so very thankful for the ability to be able to do it and look forward to my feet crossing that finish line in Savannah.
