The right coaching makes all the difference in the world. Sunday afternoons at our place are now a whole lot different than they used to be.

Milestones
This weekend was amazing. As a family, we stayed busy, stayed outdoors, and stayed active. However, Saturday was especially important to me personally. Having been inspired and pushed, I ran 3 miles in the morning. It felt great. I am not setting any record pace (39 minutes), but it was the longest distance thus far.
I got home, showered, made my wife and I a healthy breakfast and went to relax a bit in the living room. My 4 year old daughter came up to me and said “Daddy, I wanted to go run with you.” What do you tell your 4 year old who wants to go run with her daddy? You certainly dont tell her you are tired. You go change and you go run. And that is what I did.
That time with her was better than the 3 miles I ran earlier in the morning. It meant so much more. I didn’t keep up with how far we ran and walked, but my guess was that it was about a mile. Since it was about snack time, we ran back to the house, grabbed 2 bananas and a big bottle of ice water, and ran some more. We sat down in that amazingly beautiful day and enjoyed our snack together and I listened to her talk about Disney World and everything else that was on her mind.
As an aside: My wife got to enjoy this on Sunday as she went running with Lauren, too. Just as they started running, my wife had to stop because she had to tie her pants in fear of them falling off. Losing 20 pounds will do that (Go Gina!). Lauren said “It’s OK mommy, daddy had to do that yesterday.”
