Sometimes you surprise yourself
I was dreading the WOD today, mostly because one of the exercises was toes-to-bar. Much like double-unders and muscle ups, toes-to-bar have eluded me. Not sure why, other than we do not frequently do them and I never practice them.
2011 CrossFit Games Week 5 Open WOD:
- 5 power cleans @ 145lbs
- 10 toes-to-bar
- 15 wall balls @ 20lbs
My plan was to scale the T2B to K2E or something similar. After the power cleans I grabbed a hold of the the pull-up bar and figured I would try at least one, and nailed it. Kinda funny because I dropped off the bar in shock. Did I really sling by big ole feet up there? I did! Ha! Had it not been for the T2B, I would have breezed through this WOD. The weight on the power cleans never seemed heavy at all and the wall balls never seem to give me any trouble.
Still not a machine to where I can string multiple T2B together, but this morning I did something that I have never been able to do. Regardless of rounds or time, that is a pretty big deal to me.

I love that feeling when you do something you didn’t dream you could do. I call it “surprise and delight.”

nice stuff man. Love that feeling, when you think it is too much weight and you get it up. Makes sure you are really stretching your hamstrings for those T2B. I notice I can get extra extension if I do a little extra hammy stretching. keep it up!
