PR
I don’t think I will ever get tired of being able to type PR.
But first, the workout. 12 minute AMRAP:
- 9 deadlifts @ 165lbs
- 12 hand-release push-ups
- 15 box jumps @ 24”
Felt pretty good. The weakest part of these were the hand-release push-ups. The slowest were the box jumps. I am starting to find a better rhythm to where I can hop up and pop back down quicker. The key is to not destroy my shins. Thankfully today there was no shin destruction from box jumps. Nearly got 6 rounds but my upper body gave out from the push-ups.
Post-WOD: Squat 5-5-3-3-2
- 165 x 5
- 185 x 5
- 205 x 3
- 235 x 3
- 265 x 2
- 285 x 1
- 305 x 1
I felt good at 265 and realized I should have started heavier than I did. Put a little more on just to further and hit 305, which is a new PR for me. I know I had gas in the tank to go heavier than 305. I think I will plan some lifting days to work on strength and work a few heavy reps in and plan on maxing out in a few months.
