The road is too wet for two wheels…

…but not for two feet.

Longest distance since Tough Mudder.

We had planned on a 40 mile bike today but with the heavy rain yesterday and light rain today, the roads are far too wet.  But with the mist I could still get out and stretch my legs.  So that is just what I did.  And it felt amazing.  I didn’t really have a distance planned, but wanted to run at least a 5K.  At around the 1.5 mile mark I still felt good so I thought I would just keep going.  Glad that I did.

Last year I ran with my iPhone using Nike+ and while that setup was great, I have to admit, that running with a Garmin and iPod Shuffle is even better.  Just feels volumes lighter to me for some reason.  More importantly, I dont have to listen to the phone beep, buzz, and vibrate from emails and texts.  Felt even more free turning it off and leaving it at home.
