But for What?
Recently during a workout, I looked over at the clock just to see where I was. You know, sometimes you get that feeling as if you have been working for 40 minutes but in reality it has only been 8.
As I glance over, I could tell that everyone was working. I finished up whatever round I was on and sat to catch my breath. As I walked over to give my time to the trainer, I noticed that some...

Switching Gears
While I am pretty happy about hitting a new PR on deads over the weekend, I realized (after I was done) that I have been doing some 1RM testing pretty close to each other on the same lift. I really did not realize that I was doing it either, as silly as that sounds. One of my friends usually starts hitting deads on Saturday and I have a hard time not hopping in.

Sure, you may lose 90 pounds in 2 weeks, but what happens after your $1000 supply of shakes and fancy bars runs out?

New Identity: Athlete: Wherever You Are →
Relevant. Truth.

Whether you are on your way to dropping 100+ lbs. or you’re trying to tighten up that squat form or whether you’re a fitness addict and love nothing more than spending hours in the gym: How you speak about yourself is the greatest indication of your beliefs about your self-worth.

Excess exercise 'hurts the heart'
I caught this online, as I am sure many of you already have, and found it interesting. This stood out to me:
Activities such as marathons, iron man distance triathlons, and very long distance bicycle races may cause structural changes to the heart and large arteries, leading to lasting injury.
And:
Endurance sports such as ultramarathon running or professional cycling have been associated...

That awkward moment when the woman you’re dancing behind bends over so you can grind it, then you realize she just lost an earring… and that no one else in Starbucks can hear your iPod.
