It will be an epic battle. Only one will be left standing at the end. #nutella (Taken with instagram)
Eat Real Things
I have had this on my mind for a while now but it keeps coming back up for some reason. As any of you out there can attest to, the minute you lose enough weight for people to notice one of the very first questions asked is “How did you lose the weight?” At first I was always really excited to answer that question but as time goes on it gets a little frustrating. The answer is a lifestyle change through a change of how I eat coupled with exercise as well as more active life in general.
But nobody wants to hear that.

Holy Volume, Batman!

I would venture a guess that anyone familiar with CrossFit is also familiar with Rich Froning, Jr. And for those familiar with the winner of the 2011 CrossFit Games knows that the guy is almost inhuman in his ability to handle high volume workouts and recover as quickly as he is capable of moving through a WOD. The video is a little on the lengthy side, but well worth watching.
Food accountability… Breakfast: Kashi Go Lean cereal with a banana and hard boiled egg. Snack #1: apple and Chobani. Lunch: Mixed green salad and toasted roast beef sandwich on Ezekiel bread. Snack #2: corn tortilla chips with salsa/low-fat cottage cheese dip. Dinner: Date night with the wife means sushi! (Taken with instagram)
Got a buddy that swears that this stuff is better than Nutella. While its good, it doesn’t touch Nutella. I cant keep Nutella in the house because I cant stay out of it. But that got me thinking… For those that eat clean but have the need to satisfy a sweet tooth, what is your go-to snack/cheat?
Breakfast was Greek yogurt with vanilla extract, flax seeds, and fresh strawberries. Snack #1 was sun butter and sugar free jelly on Ezekiel bread. Lunch was the garden bar at Ruby Tuesdays. Second snack was a small protein shake with fish oil. Dinner was a small steak, whole grain rice, and baby spinach salad. #eatrealthings (Taken with instagram)
Looks like it is still swollen today. For those that asked, I was doing Badger on Friday and on the last set of pullups I came down wrong off the bar and rolled my ankle on the rack. Guess I’ll finally have the opportunity to perfect my gangsta stroll. (Taken with instagram)
Took my oldest to Dunkin’ Donuts this morning and I had a lite latte and some type of turkey and egg white sandwich. Snack 1 was a grain bagel with sun butter. Lunch was a grain tortilla rollup with turkey, alfalfa sprouts, and tomato served with cubed melon. Snack 2 was lite Laughing Cow cheese on Wasa crackers. Dinner was a cheat meal of sorts as I had chicken fajitas. I ate the rice and beans but passed on the tortillas. Had better days. Had worse. (Taken with instagram)
Does that look swollen to you? I guess I have some forced rest days ahead of me. (Taken with instagram)
“The deadlift for me, has always been a weakness. It’s not something that I am good at.”
